Everything You Need to Know About Breeding, Birthing, Milking, and Caring for Goats

Posted by on December 19, 2014

As most of you know, we’ve leapt with both feet into the world of goat ownership. The most interaction I’ve ever had with a goat prior to this was petting them at the State Fair. But how hard can it be, right?

Yeah, sure.

I’ve been reading like a mad person and discovering just how much I did not and do not know. I’m so thankful Gurda (mama goat) isn’t in milk. I’m no where near ready to be milking a goat. We’re still in the “warming up, getting to know you” phase, and the girls are pretty skittish, but we’re getting there.

Meanwhile, I’m reading everything about caring for goats.

AWESOME list. I’m going to have to read through all of these. : ) We have a buck visiting this week and I could use a refresher.

  2. April

Great list! There’s a few of these I should read too (since I too am a “just jump into it and I’m sure it’ll all work out” kinda person). Can’t know too much when it comes to animals.

Also thanks for the link up 🙂
